6 Week Syllabus

Week One       –           Create a Clearing

The vast majority of entrepreneurs waste time and operate from chaos.  Whether they are looking for documents, bank statements, sifting through thousands of emails, or dealing with a mountain of unfiled receipts, time is money and wasting time means wasting money.

In week one, you will create a clearing in your work environment in order to become more effective.  Your environment must align with your objectives and as over 80% of all businesses are founded from home, you will organize your homework space and any additional work spaces so that regardless of where you are working from (even your car!), all will provide fluid continuity and allow you to produce greater results with ease.

Week Two      –           Focus

As an entrepreneur, you wear many hats – marketing, accounting, legal, sales, and business development.  It can be overwhelming at times knowing where to focus.  In week two, we will explore strategies to help you focus more effectively so that you can structure your day to be aligned with your objectives.

Week Three    –           Business Development

Many entrepreneurs lack a solid business plan.  This is like trying to go to a destination that you have never been before and not having your Google or Apple Maps.  Your business plan helps guide your decisions, helps you pitch your business if you are trying to raise capital, or simply helps you stay focused in times of uncertainty.

In this lesson, we will go over the fundamentals of a business plan and you will work on either creating or updating your plan to align with your goals.

Week Four      –           Fundamental Accounting

Businesses fail not from lack of good ideas, but from lack of financial literacy.  In this class, we will go through basic accounting including cash flow statements and profit and loss statements.  There will always be uncertainty at times whether it is a stock market crash, a pandemic, or some other form of crisis that can derail many business owners.  By understanding accounting and learning how to truly save for a rainy day, you will be able to navigate life’s storms and seize opportunities when others are panicking.

Abundance means being able to help others when they are in need and not being the person in need yourself.  Being a good steward with your money will help you be able to do just that.

Week Five       –           Essential Legal Documents

Many small business owners do not have a clue when it comes to understanding basic legal documents and enter into business relationships without a solid footing.  This can lead to misunderstandings, loss of confidential information, and much worse.  In the words of Susan’s mentor, and NY Times Best-Selling Author, Harvey Mackay, ‘good agreements prevent disagreements.’

In this class, we will explore standard documents such as NDA’s (non-disclosure agreements), client agreements, and service agreements.

Week Six         –           7 Figure Habits

If you want to grow your business to over a million dollars per year, you must have the habits that align with this objective.  Most everyday millionaires are not flashing, disciplined with saving and spending, and have rock-solid habits.

This last class will help you galvanize your new habits, stay focused, and take your professionalism to a new level.
