Best-selling author, time management expert, work life balance specialist and professional speaker Susan Sly sits down with Founder & Chairman of Steiner Sports Marketing and Memorabilia Brandon Steiner.

Scottsdale, AZ — March 31, 2017 — Best-selling author, work life balance speaker and expert, and entrepreneur Susan Sly recently interviewed sports marketing legend Brandon Steiner on her Step Into Your Power™ podcast. On the show, Sly and Steiner discuss the importance of staying hungry and finding success after coming from humble beginnings.

The duo begin the podcast by discussing Steiner’s start and how his upbringing shaped his character. According to Steiner, “It was pretty clear we were the poorest family in the neighborhood.” At 10, Steiner got a job to help his mother make ends meet “I think the most important thing,” Steiner elaborates, “if you want to get on the road to success – is being accountable and being dependable.”

Hardship taught Steiner to stay hungry. “I’m glad that everything came hard,” he says. “The greatest things you accomplish or are a big part of who you are is usually based around the things that were hard. And I think life is hard.” Steiner continues, “You have to embrace that and enjoy that it’s difficult and not get too depressed about it.”

The pair then begin to talk about the challenges and rewards of working with the Millenial generation. Sly asks Steiner if he thinks that the current generation are losing some of that hunger that Steiner – and many others of his generation – experienced. According to Steiner, “Millenials are a little lazy, but they’re extremely efficient. They get stuff done way faster than I ever got stuff done. I just want them to get a lot more stuff done a lot faster.”

The interview concludes with Steiner advocating for all generations to endeavor to be motivational and embrace leadership. He also encourages people to persevere and not be discouraged by setbacks. “I think that one of the biggest problems is that people think they shouldn’t have problems. Embrace your problems,” Steiner advises. “Run to them.”
