My Interview With Huffington Post, Wall Street Journal, and NPR Contributor – Greg Hague

Wall Street Journal, and NPR, expert, Greg Hague knows a thing, or two, about disrupting industries.
He coaches thousands of realtors to change the way they list and show homes to catapult their success. Drawing upon his own experience as an attorney and a realtor, Hague, likes to deconstruct the norm starting with asking some powerful questions.
In my interview with Hague, he discussed the key pieces of advice he gives to realtors, and they can apply to any business.
He suggests asking this question – what are other people doing in my space and how can I do it dramatically different?
It was this line of questioning that took Hague from rookie to renegade realtor back in the 1970’s in Cincinnati. It is also this same form of questioning he applied to his successful coaching business.
Hague suggests that we also find a credibility enhancing why – essentially figuring out how we can be different and why it matters to our potential clients and customers.
An example is an early mentor who sold carpet and appliances. He rented a space thirty miles outside of the city and his business was booming.
Greg asked him why he was so successful when people had to drive so far to shop in his store and his answer was that he looked at what his competition was doing and asked himself how he could do it better and for better prices.
His ads were very explicit – they outlined how by having a store in an area that cost less, he could bring the savings to his customers and also help the people of the town thanks to the increased numbers coming into the area to shop. Customers appreciated his honesty and that gave him credibility.
I applied this technique on a recent Facebook live. Many coaches I know take time to have their hair and make-up perfect before going live.
I had just finished hot yoga and was dripping with sweat, no make-up, and red in the face, when I posted from my car sharing how I had scrapped my planned message and thanks to some challenges I had faced, decided that people deserved to have something with more meaning.
Within 24 hours that post had over 7,000 views and had reached over 12,000 people. On Monday’s live show (I do this every Monday at noon PST) I pulled out the medical report that indicated ‘tumor’ on it from seventeen years ago; something that I likely never would have done before.
At the day, we all work hard, we all want to achieve, and we all want to generate revenue. Greg Hague’s philosophies can help us do just that.
